The Baseline Protection: Quicklexia Speed Reader is engineered to be a zero-data utility. The Extension operates 100% locally inside your browser's local sandbox. We do not collect, store, track, log, or transmit any user data, personal information, or browsing activity to any external servers.

1. Data Collection and Transmission

Because the Extension runs entirely on your local machine, the following truths apply unconditionally to your usage:

No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or tracking identifiers.

Any customized user preferences—including your selected reading fonts, word-spacing dimensions, and visual tracking dot sizes—are stored exclusively on your own device using the browser's native local storage API (`chrome.storage.local`). This data is never synchronized with external databases and remains completely under your local control. Clearing your browser cache or uninstalling the extension permanently deletes these local configurations.

3. Regulatory Compliance Frameworks

COPPA Compliance (Children's Privacy): Because the Extension captures absolutely zero data, it is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not knowingly or unknowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
GDPR and CCPA Alignment: Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), data subjects have rights regarding data access and deletion.
